About Fuvahmulah Airport
Fuvahmulah Airport (FVM) is a domestic airport serving Fuvahmulah Island, the single-island atoll in Gnaviyani Atoll in the southern Maldives. Opened in November 2011, it connects the island to Velana International Airport in Malé and other domestic points in the country.
The airport operates from a single-storey passenger terminal with a 1,200-metre runway that mainly handles turboprop services by the national carrier Maldivian. The compact layout keeps check-in, security, departures and arrivals within a short walking distance.
Situated at the southern end of the island and about 1 km from the centre of Fuvahmulah City, the airport is easily reached by taxi, motorbike or bicycle, and many guesthouses arrange pickups. It also functions as a key point for supplies and medical transfers in the southern region.
