Villa International Airport Maamigili is a privately operated airport on the island of Maamigili in Alif Dhaal Atoll, about 108 km southwest of Malé. It opened in 2011 as a domestic airport and later gained international status, giving the South Ari Atoll region its own air gateway for domestic flights and some private international traffic.
The airport has a single passenger terminal handling domestic and international services, with a 1,800-metre runway that supports regional aircraft. It is best known for regular domestic connections to Velana International Airport in Malé, making it a convenient link for travellers heading to South Ari Atoll resorts.
Maamigili serves as a practical entry point for resorts and local islands in the southern Ari Atoll, including Dhigurah, which is popular for whale shark excursions. Visitors typically continue by speedboat, resort transfer or short island boat ride after landing.
