About Muli Airport
Muli Airport is the first and only airport in Meemu Atoll, located on Muli Island, the atoll's administrative capital. Opened in May 2025, it gave residents and visitors their first scheduled air connection after decades of relying on sea transport between islands.
Situated roughly 138 km south of Malé, the airport handles domestic flights operated by national carrier Maldivian, with a flight time of about 35 minutes. Its infrastructure includes a 1,200-metre runway, a passenger terminal, an apron and a control tower built to support regular island connections.
Operated by Regional Airports Company Limited, Muli Airport links Meemu Atoll with the capital and provides onward access to the atoll's inhabited islands and resorts. From the terminal, travelers continue by speedboat, local ferry or arranged transfer to nearby destinations.
With a single compact terminal and basic facilities, the airport focuses on domestic travel and island transfers rather than long-haul international services, keeping the journey simple for visitors heading to and from the atoll.
