About Kadhdhoo Airport
Kadhdhoo Airport is a domestic airport on Kadhdhoo island in Laamu Atoll, about 280 km south of Malé. Inaugurated in December 1986 as the Maldives' first domestic airport, it serves as the primary air gateway to Laamu Atoll and the surrounding south-central islands.
The airport has a compact single terminal and a 1,220-metre runway designated 03/21, suited to the turboprop aircraft used on Maldivian domestic routes. Maldivian operates scheduled flights between Malé and Kadhdhoo, usually one to two per day with a flight time of about 40 minutes.
Located in Laamu Atoll, the airport sits close to Gan and Fonadhoo, the atoll's main populated islands, and within a short speedboat ride of resorts such as Six Senses Laamu and Rahaa Resort. Onward travel is mostly arranged by speedboat, dhoni, or connected road links.
Although small, the terminal provides essential services including check-in, a waiting area, restrooms, a small shop, and resort representative desks, making it a practical starting point for surfers, divers, and other travelers visiting Laamu Atoll.
