About Ifuru Airport
Ifuru Airport is a domestic airport on Ifuru Island in Raa Atoll, in the northern Maldives. Opened in 2014 and operated by Island Aviation Services, it gives travellers a convenient alternative to long seaplane journeys when reaching resorts and local islands in the atoll.
The airport sits about 178 km north of Malé and is connected to Velana International Airport by domestic flights of roughly 40–50 minutes, mainly operated by Maldivian with Manta Air on select services. From the terminal, guests continue by pre-arranged resort speedboat to islands across Raa Atoll.
Its single runway is about 1,200 metres long and suited to regional turboprop aircraft. The compact passenger terminal handles check-in, security and arrivals in one building, keeping onward connections simple for domestic travellers.
Located about 4 km from Ungoofaaru, the atoll capital, Ifuru Airport serves both local residents and visitors heading to resorts and guesthouses across the northern atolls.
