About Yecheon Air Base
Yecheon Air Base is a military airport serving Yecheon County in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. The airfield was established as a Republic of Korea Air Force base and later handled scheduled civilian flights between 1989 and 2004.
During its civilian period, airlines operated domestic routes between Yecheon and Seoul Gimpo and Jeju. After passenger demand declined and the final Yecheon–Jeju route ended in 2004, the airport returned to military-only use and no longer handles scheduled commercial flights.
The airbase sits roughly 9 km west of Yecheon town and about 34 km west of Andong. It has a single paved runway and is reached primarily by road, with transfers, taxis, chauffeur services, and rental cars available for travel around Yecheon County and the surrounding region.
Because it is an active military installation, access is restricted and passenger facilities are limited. Visitors should confirm access and travel arrangements in advance.
Terminal Overview
Terminals
Yecheon Air Base currently operates as a military airport and does not have active commercial passenger terminals. A civilian passenger terminal was used when scheduled flights operated until 2004, but passenger services are not currently available.
