Yangyang International Airport is the main international airport serving the eastern Gangwon region of South Korea, including Yangyang County, Sokcho and Gangneung. Opened in 2002, it replaced the former Sokcho and Gangneung airports and consolidated regional air services into one facility.
Located in Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang County, the airport provides domestic and international connections and serves both leisure and business travellers heading to the east coast, Seoraksan National Park and nearby resort areas.
