Skorpion Mine Airport (RHN)

Skorpion Mine Airport is a small aerodrome serving the Skorpion Zinc Mine and the nearby mining town of Rosh Pinah in Namibia's southern Karas region. It mainly handles private and charter flights that support mining operations, personnel movements and occasional business travel.

The airport has a single asphalt runway and is used for visual flight rules operations. It lies about 15 km northwest of Rosh Pinah, close to the Orange River and the border area with South Africa.

Because Skorpion Mine Airport is not a public port of entry, it does not offer scheduled airline services, customs or immigration. Travellers typically reach it by private road vehicle, while the town of Rosh Pinah provides basic services such as fuel and supplies.

With limited passenger infrastructure, the airport functions as a practical access point for the mine and the surrounding desert region. Onward journeys to Rosh Pinah, the Orange River and other southern Namibian destinations are usually made by pre-arranged private transfer or rental vehicle.
