Terrace Bay Airport (TCY)

Terrace Bay Airport is a small remote aerodrome serving Terrace Bay on the Skeleton Coast of northwestern Namibia. Located within the Skeleton Coast National Park in the Kunene Region, it mainly handles light aircraft and charter flights for visitors travelling to this isolated coastal area. The airfield has a single unpaved runway, roughly 1.5 km long, suited to light aircraft rather than large commercial jets. It lies close to the Terrace Bay camp, a Namibia Wildlife Resorts base that is especially popular with shore anglers. By road, Terrace Bay is reached from Khorixas along the C39, with Swakopmund about 370 km to the south and Windhoek roughly 510 km to the southeast. Scheduled airline service is not available, so most passengers arrive by private or charter aircraft or continue overland. Facilities at the airfield are minimal, and onward travel is normally arranged in advance through tour operators, private transfers or self-drive 4x4 vehicles. Travellers should prepare for the remote conditions of the northern Skeleton Coast.
