Piešťany Airport is a small international airport serving the spa town of Piešťany and the wider Trnava region of western Slovakia. Established in 1926 as a military airfield, it developed civil aviation traffic from 1933 and remains a compact, easily accessible gateway for the area.
The airport primarily supports charter, seasonal and private aviation traffic serving spa visitors to Piešťany, Trenčianske Teplice and Bojnice, as well as business travellers heading to Trnava, Nitra and Trenčín. Its modern passenger terminal was opened in August 2008 ahead of the Visegrád Four summit held in Piešťany.
Located around 3.5 km north of central Piešťany, the airport is only a short drive from Spa Piešťany and roughly 20 minutes from Trnava and 45 minutes from Bratislava by car. Travelers can reach the centre by taxi, private transfer or local bus line 18, followed by a short walk.
Although smaller than Slovakia's main international airports, Piešťany Airport offers straightforward arrival and departure procedures, parking directly in front of the terminal and easy access to the region's spa resorts and business centres.
