About Lučenec Airfield
Lučenec Airfield is a small non-public domestic airfield near Boľkovce, about 5 km from the centre of Lučenec in southern Slovakia's Banská Bystrica Region. It primarily serves general aviation, sport flying, ultralight aviation and parachuting rather than scheduled commercial airline traffic.
The airfield has a long association with Lučenec's aviation community. Aeroklub Lučenec moved to the Boľkovce site in 1965, and from 1979 the location developed into a parachuting training centre. It has hosted parachuting world championships and other national and international competitions, and remains an active base for light aircraft and pilot training.
Visitors reach the airfield by road from Lučenec, with nearby rail connections on the Košice–Zvolen line serving the town. Onward travel by taxi, private transfer or rental car is the most practical way to continue to Lučenec, Fiľakovo, Poltár and other destinations in the region.
Despite its modest scale, the airfield offers useful on-site facilities including accommodation, a bar, Wi-Fi and a flying school, making it a practical general aviation gateway for this part of southern Slovakia.
