About Košice International Airport
Košice International Airport is the second-largest international airport in Slovakia and the main air gateway to Košice and eastern Slovakia. Aviation at Košice dates back to 1924, when the first scheduled air route connected the city with Bratislava, and the present airport site near Barca began to take shape in the 1950s.
Located about 6 km south of the city centre, the airport serves domestic and European routes and handles both business and leisure passengers. The modern terminal complex opened in 2004 and combines the newer T2 passenger building with the connected T1 building, offering check-in, security, arrivals and passenger services in a compact layout.
Public bus line 23 links the terminal with the city centre, railway station and bus station in roughly 20 minutes. Taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services, car rental and road links provide additional onward options to Košice and destinations across eastern Slovakia.
