About Marib Airport
Marib Airport is a civilian airport serving Ma'rib and the surrounding Marib Governorate in central Yemen. The airport carries the IATA code MYN and ICAO code OYMB, and is being developed as the Marib International Airport project to improve air connectivity for the city and the wider region.
Construction was first designated in 2018, but work was later suspended. The project was relaunched with the laying of a new foundation stone in October 2023 and is supported by Saudi funding. The development includes a runway of about 3,000 metres as well as terminal, service and administrative buildings.
The airport site lies close to Marib city centre and is connected to the city and nearby areas by road, which will allow travelers to continue their journey by taxi, private transfer or rental car once the facility is operational.
When completed, Marib Airport is intended to support domestic travel, development and stability in Marib Governorate and central Yemen, while offering passenger facilities and onward transport connections for visitors.
