About Gimhae International Airport
Gimhae International Airport is the main international airport serving Busan, South Korea's second-largest city, and the wider southeastern coastal region. It opened at its current Gangseo-gu site in 1976, following earlier operations from Suyeong airfield, and has since grown into a key hub for domestic and international travel.
Located about 20 km west of central Busan, the airport operates separate Domestic and International Terminals. The International Terminal opened in 2007, while the Domestic Terminal handles routes to Seoul and other Korean cities. Gimhae serves as the main hub for Air Busan and handles a mix of leisure and business traffic to destinations across Asia.
The airport is connected to Busan by the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit, which links to Metro Lines 2 and 3 at Sasang and Daejeo stations, as well as by airport limousine buses, taxis, private transfers, and rental cars.
