About Cheongju International Airport
Cheongju International Airport is a joint civil-military airport serving Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province and the central region of South Korea. The airfield opened as a Republic of Korea Air Force base in September 1978, and civil operations began when the airport opened in April 1997.
Located in Naesu-eup, Cheongwon-gu, roughly 10 km north of central Cheongju, the airport handles domestic flights and international services, mainly to destinations in East and Southeast Asia. It provides a convenient alternative gateway for travellers in central Korea and areas around Daejeon and Sejong.
