Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport is the main international airport serving Izmir and Turkey's Aegean region. Opened to civil international traffic in 1987, it has since grown into an important gateway for both domestic and international travel.
Located in the Gaziemir district, about 18 km south of Izmir city centre, the airport has two passenger terminals: a Domestic Terminal and an International Terminal. TAV Airports operates the airport and has invested in modernizing both terminal buildings.
