Zonguldak Çaycuma Airport (ONQ)

Zonguldak Çaycuma Airport is the main air gateway for Zonguldak and the surrounding Western Black Sea region of Turkey. Originally developed on a former military airfield site at Saltukova, the airport reopened in 1999 and was brought back into service in 2007 as a civil airport serving both domestic and international traffic. The airport is operated by Zonguldak Özel Sivil Havacılık Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and has an annual passenger capacity of about 500,000.

The airport is located in the Çaycuma district, roughly 25–27 km east of Zonguldak city centre. A single terminal building combines arrivals and departures, with a concrete runway of 2,131 metres that can accommodate the turboprop and jet aircraft used on scheduled services.

Current routes connect Zonguldak with Istanbul as well as German destinations such as Düsseldorf and Dortmund, making the airport useful for both domestic travel and links to the large Turkish community in Germany. The airport has no direct rail connection, so travellers generally continue by car, taxi, private transfer or rental vehicle along the regional road network.

With its compact terminal, café and parking facilities, the airport offers a straightforward experience for travellers and serves as a convenient entry point for the coastal towns, industrial centres and inland destinations of the Western Black Sea region.
