Varna Airport is the main international airport serving Varna and the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Opened in 1948, it is managed by Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD and handles scheduled and seasonal traffic linking the region with destinations across Europe and beyond.
Located about 7 km from central Varna, the airport is particularly important during the summer season, when it connects travelers with resorts such as Golden Sands, Sts. Constantine and Helena, and Albena. Passenger services are concentrated in Terminal 2, which opened in 2013, with additional seasonal capacity in Terminal 3.
The airport is connected to Varna by bus line 409, taxis, private transfers and road links, while onward services continue toward the coastal resorts. This makes travel to the city centre and nearby destinations relatively straightforward.
