About Sacheon Airport
Sacheon Airport is a joint civil-military airfield serving Sacheon and nearby Jinju in South Gyeongsang Province. Operated together with the Republic of Korea Air Force as Sacheon Air Base, it functions as a small domestic gateway and is also home to Korea Aerospace Industries, which manufactures military aircraft on the north side of the site.
Passenger service at the airport began in 1977, and today the airport handles domestic routes to Seoul Gimpo and Jeju operated by Jin Air and Korean Air. The passenger terminal is a compact single-storey building designed for straightforward domestic departures and arrivals.
The airport is located about 20 km from central Jinju, a city known for Jinju Fortress and the Namgang River. Buses to Sacheon Intercity Bus Terminal stop close to the terminal, while intercity buses to Jinju can be boarded across the road, alongside a taxi stand.
Because the facility is shared with the military, access is restricted in some areas and photography of the runway and military infrastructure is not allowed. For travellers, Sacheon Airport offers a practical and quiet entry point to the southern coast and western Gyeongsang region.
