Otjiwarongo Airport (OTJ)

Otjiwarongo Airport is a small public airfield serving the town of Otjiwarongo in Namibia's Otjozondjupa Region. It mainly handles general aviation, private flights and charter operations rather than scheduled commercial airline services.

The airfield is located about four to five kilometres northeast of the town centre along the B1 national road, at an elevation of roughly 1,475 metres. It has a gravel runway aligned 09/27 with a length of approximately 1,800 metres, together with a small apron and three hangars.

Otjiwarongo sits on the main north-south route between Windhoek, about 250 kilometres to the south, and Etosha National Park to the north, and it is a common gateway to Waterberg Plateau Park. This central location makes the airfield a useful stop for private pilots and charter travelers exploring central and northern Namibia.

On-site passenger facilities are limited, but Otjiwarongo town is only a short drive away and offers accommodation, fuel, shops and dining. Plans to expand the airfield as a stronger regional aviation hub have been discussed in recent years, although scheduled services have not yet been established.
