About Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Airport
Andimba Toivo ya Toivo Airport, formerly known as Ondangwa Airport, serves the town of Ondangwa and the wider Oshana Region in northern Namibia. The airport was renamed in 2019 in honour of liberation struggle leader Andimba Toivo ya Toivo, and it continues to operate as an important domestic air link for the north.
The current passenger terminal was completed and inaugurated in 2015, replacing older infrastructure and giving the airport a modern single-terminal setup. Scheduled domestic flights connect Ondangwa with Windhoek Eros, making the airport a practical alternative to long road journeys between northern Namibia and the capital.
The airport lies about 4 km north of Ondangwa town centre and roughly 85 km north of Etosha National Park. Its position places it within reach of the Oshana, Oshikoto, Ohangwena, Omusati and Kunene regions, and it also provides a link toward southern Angola and a refuelling stop for some flights heading farther into Africa.
Travellers can reach the terminal by taxi, private transfer or rental car, with a short road connection to Ondangwa and nearby towns such as Oshakati and Ongwediva. Passenger facilities include a restaurant, bistro, curio shop, foreign exchange service and car rental options.
