Midgard Airport (MQG)

Midgard Airport is a private airstrip serving Midgard Country Estate, a historic guest farm and conference destination in the Otjihavera Mountains of central Namibia. The estate was established in 1937 as a retreat and farming property of the List family and later developed into a lodge and leisure destination.

The airfield has a single gravel runway, designated 02/20, measuring about 1,470 metres and sitting at an elevation above 1,500 metres. It is used mainly for private charters, fly-in safaris and corporate arrivals, operating during daylight hours under visual flight rules with prior permission from estate management.

The airport lies roughly 85 km northeast of Windhoek and about 70 km from Hosea Kutako International Airport. By road, the estate is typically reached from Windhoek in about 90 minutes via the B6 and M53 routes, while the airstrip offers a much shorter flying option for arriving guests.

Because Midgard does not operate as a commercial airport, there are no conventional terminals, retail concessions or public transport at the airstrip. Guests are met by estate personnel and continue the short distance to the lodge, where accommodation, dining and leisure facilities are available.
