Masindi Airport (KCU)

Masindi Airport is a small regional airfield serving Masindi town and the Bunyoro sub-region of Western Uganda. Located in the Kyema suburb about 10 kilometres north of the town centre, it primarily handles general aviation, private charters and light aircraft rather than scheduled airline traffic. The airfield is managed by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

The airport functions as an entry point for travellers visiting Murchison Falls National Park and the surrounding safari areas. It features a single unpaved grass and murram runway of about 2,100 metres, along with a modest terminal building that combines check-in, waiting, arrivals and baggage areas.

By road, central Masindi is typically a 15–20 minute drive from the airfield, and private hire vehicles or pre-arranged taxis provide the main onward connection. Safari lodges near Murchison Falls commonly arrange airport transfers for their guests.

Because it is a small regional facility, passenger services are limited, with basic seating and refreshments available on site and a wider range of shops, restaurants and banking services in Masindi town. Travellers are generally advised to coordinate ground transport and confirm flight details with their charter operator in advance.
