About Lüdao Airport
Lüdao Airport is the only airport on Green Island (Lüdao), a small island in Taitung County on Taiwan's southeast coast. Established in 1972, the airport provides the island with a fast air connection to Taitung and is used mainly for domestic travel by residents and visitors.
Located at Nanliao on the island's northwest side, the airport has a single runway and one compact passenger terminal. Daily Air operates scheduled flights between Green Island and Taitung using 19-seat DHC-6 aircraft, with a flight time of about 15 to 20 minutes.
Because Green Island is separated from mainland Taiwan by sea, the airport is an important alternative to the ferry from Taitung's Fugang Harbor, which takes around 50 minutes by boat. The short flight makes the airport especially useful for travelers who want to reach the island quickly.
Facilities are simple but functional, with a waiting room, ticket counters, restrooms and a small display area introducing the island. The airport serves as a convenient entry point for visitors heading to Green Island's beaches, hot springs, diving sites and cultural attractions.
