Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)

Taipei Songshan Airport is the capital's central-city airport, primarily serving domestic flights to destinations across Taiwan and a focused network of regional international routes to Northeast Asia. Opened in 1936, it is one of Taiwan's longest-operating airports and works alongside Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport as a secondary gateway for the Taipei metropolitan area.

Located in the Songshan District about 3 km from central Taipei, the airport is much closer to the city centre than Taoyuan and is especially convenient for business and short-haul travellers. Passenger operations are spread across two terminals: Terminal 1 handles international flights, while Terminal 2 serves domestic services and was renovated before reopening in 2011.

The airport is directly served by the Taipei Metro Wenhu (Brown) Line, whose Songshan Airport station sits beneath the terminal, along with city buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars. This makes it relatively quick and easy to reach Taipei Main Station, downtown districts and onward connections across northern Taiwan.

Inside the terminal complex, passengers can find restaurants, cafés, shops, lounges, free Wi-Fi, currency exchange, luggage storage, family facilities and an observation deck, giving the airport a compact and traveller-friendly character despite its smaller size.
