About Wang'an Airport
Wang'an Airport is a small domestic airport serving Wang'an Island in the Penghu archipelago. Opened in 1978, it began under Penghu County Government management and was later taken over by the Civil Aeronautics Administration in 1991, before being established as a Class D air station in 1993.
Located in Zhongshe Village, the airport sits about 19 km southwest of Magong, the main city of Penghu. It has a single compact terminal and a 822-metre concrete runway, and is used mainly for short scheduled flights between Kaohsiung and Wang'an operated by Daily Air.
Because Wang'an is an island, onward travel to Magong and other Penghu destinations usually combines local road transport with a ferry from the island's harbor. Private transfers, taxis and hired vehicles can cover the short land legs around the airport and nearby villages.
For visitors, the airport is a simple and easy-to-navigate entry point to Wang'an's coastal scenery, beaches and traditional villages, with basic waiting and passenger amenities inside the terminal.
