About Khmelnytskyi Airport
Khmelnytskyi Airport (HMJ) is a regional airport serving the city of Khmelnytskyi and the surrounding oblast in western Ukraine. It holds international airport status, although scheduled passenger services have been suspended and the facility now mainly supports general aviation.
The airport opened in the 1950s and later developed a passenger terminal, with a concrete runway capable of handling medium-sized aircraft. Located about 7 km southwest of the city centre, it remains a strategic aviation point for the Podillia region.
The airport is close to Khmelnytskyi, and the journey to the city centre normally takes around 10 to 15 minutes by road. Taxis and private transfers provide the main onward connections, while rail and road links serve the wider region.
For travellers visiting Khmelnytskyi or the historic town of Kamianets-Podilskyi, the airport offers a compact, easy-to-navigate layout. With limited on-site facilities, arranging transfers and other services in advance helps ensure a smooth journey.
