About Zhytomyr Airport
Zhytomyr Airport is a small regional airport serving the city of Zhytomyr and the surrounding Zhytomyr Oblast in northern Ukraine. The airfield dates back to 1939 and was redeveloped and re-registered as a civil aerodrome in 2015, restoring it to passenger and general aviation use after a period of limited operation.
The airport has a single passenger terminal and one asphalt/concrete runway. Its compact layout concentrates check-in, security, baggage claim, and arrivals in one building, making the passenger journey relatively straightforward for a small regional gateway.
Located approximately 6 km east of central Zhytomyr, the airport is reached mainly by road, taxi, and private transfer. The city's position in northern Ukraine places the airport within driving distance of Kyiv, roughly 120 km to the east, which supports onward connections for travelers.
The airport offers basic passenger amenities within its single terminal and serves primarily domestic and limited international or charter traffic. Short transfer distances to the city centre make Zhytomyr Airport a convenient entry point for visitors to the region.
