Katima Mulilo Airport, also known as Mpacha Airport, is the main air gateway to Katima Mulilo, the capital of Namibia's Zambezi Region in the Caprivi Strip. It links the far north-east of Namibia with the capital, Windhoek, and with regional destinations across the neighbouring border areas. The airport sits about 18 km southwest of the town centre on the B8 road. It has a single passenger terminal and one asphalt runway, 09/27, supporting domestic and regional flights. FlyNamibia connects the airport with Windhoek, with some services continuing to nearby regional routes. The site has a long aviation history, having served as a military airfield before developing into a civilian regional airport. A runway rehabilitation programme completed in 2024 has kept the airfield compliant with civil aviation safety standards. Most journeys from the airport continue by road along the B8 to central Katima Mulilo, and onward to border crossings with Zambia and Botswana.
