Kastamonu Airport is the main domestic airport serving the city of Kastamonu and the surrounding western Black Sea region of Turkey. Opened to civil air traffic in 2013, it connects the area with scheduled domestic services and provides a practical gateway for travelers heading to the province.
The airport site dates back to 1959 and was later revised as a short take-off and landing airfield before reopening for regular civil flights. Passenger operations are handled in a single terminal building of approximately 3,740 square metres, used for domestic arrivals and departures.
Located about 13 km from the city centre, the airport is reached by shuttle bus, car rental and private vehicle, with journey times depending on traffic and departure timing.
