About Jinhae Air Base
Jinhae Air Base is a naval airfield operated by the Republic of Korea Navy, serving Jinhae-gu in Changwon and the wider South Gyeongsang region. Established in 1942, it has long supported military aviation operations in the area.
The airfield lies within Jinhae-gu, part of the integrated city of Changwon, and is located roughly 9.5 km south of the Changwon city centre. Unlike commercial airports, it does not handle scheduled passenger airline services.
Road access is available to Changwon and surrounding districts, and onward connections to Busan and Gimhae can be reached by car or arranged ground transport. Public transport options directly serving the base are limited.
As a military installation, access is restricted and passenger-facing facilities are minimal. Travelers and visitors should plan ground transportation in advance when using the airfield area.
