About İncirlik Air Base

İncirlik Air Base is a Turkish military air base in the İncirlik district of Adana, located about 10 km east of the city center and roughly 32 km inland from the Mediterranean coast. It carries the IATA code UAB and the ICAO code LTAG and mainly supports military, diplomatic and select private flights.

Construction of the airfield began in the spring of 1951, and it was officially named Adana Air Base in February 1955 before being renamed İncirlik Air Base in 1958. Over the decades it has served as an important NATO and U.S. Air Force facility in southern Turkey.

The base has a single runway designated 05/23 measuring approximately 3,048 meters, together with a passenger terminal in Building 500 that handles military and authorized passenger movements. Ground access to Adana is by road, and onward travel by taxi, private transfer, shuttle or rental car can be arranged.

Because access to the base is restricted, travelers should confirm entry authorization in advance. The passenger terminal provides lounges, dining, internet access and Wi-Fi, making it a practical point of arrival and departure for authorized passengers traveling to and from southern Turkey.
