About Diyarbakır Airport
Diyarbakır Airport is the main airport serving Diyarbakır, one of the largest cities in southeastern Anatolia, and the wider region. It has operated since 1952 and serves both civilian and military aviation, with domestic and international passenger traffic.
A new terminal building opened in 2016 replaced the older facilities and significantly increased capacity, giving the airport a modern terminal complex of around 95,000 square metres and annual passenger capacity of roughly 5 million. The terminal handles both domestic and international flights.
Located approximately 7 km from the city centre, the airport is connected to Diyarbakır by municipal buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars. Road access makes it relatively quick to reach the historic Suriçi district and other parts of the city.
