About Berlin Brandenburg Airport

Berlin Brandenburg Airport is the main international airport serving Berlin and the surrounding Brandenburg region. Opened in 2020, it consolidated the capital region's commercial air traffic into a modern airport complex on the former Schönefeld site.

Located approximately 27 km south of central Berlin in the municipality of Schönefeld, the airport offers domestic and international connections for both leisure and business travelers. Passenger operations are concentrated in two adjacent terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, while the former Schönefeld terminal is no longer in use.

The airport is connected to Berlin by the Airport Express and regional trains, S-Bahn services, buses, taxis, private transfers and road links, making onward travel to the city centre and surrounding areas straightforward. The railway station sits directly beneath Terminal 1.

With modern passenger facilities, shopping, dining, lounges and onward travel options, BER functions as the main gateway for visitors arriving in Germany's capital region.
