About Ludwigshafen Accident Hospital Heliport
Ludwigshafen Accident Hospital Heliport is a specialist hospital landing site serving BG Klinik Ludwigshafen, one of the region's leading accident and trauma care centres. It supports emergency medical, air ambulance and rescue helicopter operations rather than scheduled passenger flights.
The heliport is located in the Oggersheim district of Ludwigshafen am Rhein, roughly 6 km northwest of the city centre. It also lies close to Mannheim and the wider Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area, placing the hospital within easy reach of the regional emergency care network.
As the base for the ADAC air rescue helicopter Christoph 5, the site plays an important role in fast medical evacuation and trauma transport. Helicopters use a dedicated landing pad and patients are transferred directly into the hospital's emergency facilities.
The heliport is reached by road from Ludwigshafen and surrounding areas, with taxis, private transfers and car rental available for onward travel. Because it is an operational medical landing site, public access is restricted and there are no commercial terminal facilities.
