About JadeWeser Airport
JadeWeser Airport is a regional airfield serving Wilhelmshaven, Lower Saxony, close to the Jade Bay and JadeWeserPort. Opened in 1927 as the former Wilhelmshaven-Mariensiel airfield, it is classified as a Verkehrslandeplatz, a regional landing field used mainly for private, business and general aviation.
Located approximately 5 km southwest of central Wilhelmshaven, the airport has two asphalt runways and hangar facilities. No regular scheduled passenger flights have operated from the airport since August 2018.
The airport is connected to the A29 motorway between Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven via the Sande junction, making it easy to reach by car. Wilhelmshaven city centre, JadeWeserPort and the surrounding North Sea coastal area are within short driving distance.
Facilities include a flight restaurant with café and beer garden, aviation fuel, hangars and maintenance services, plus IFR flight operations and availability by prior arrangement outside regular hours. It serves as a practical gateway for business and private aviation in the Jade Bay region.
