Aydın Çıldır Airport (CII)

Aydın Çıldır Airport is a compact aviation facility in the Efeler district, close to the city of Aydın. The site was donated by Mustafa Çıldır in 1956 to support air services for the region, and it has since been developed for civilian, military and training use.

Since 2012 the airport has been operated by Turkish Airlines Flight Academy, which uses it as a base for pilot training alongside general aviation activity. The current facility has a single terminal, a control tower and a 1,435-metre concrete runway (09/27), with plans in progress to expand it for scheduled commercial flights.

Located approximately 6 km from central Aydın, the airport is reached by taxi, private transfer, car rental or municipal bus. Road access is straightforward, with travel to the city centre typically taking around 15 to 20 minutes.

Although scheduled commercial services are not currently operated from Aydın Çıldır Airport, the facility plays an important role in regional aviation training and connects the area to major hubs through nearby Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. Its position close to the city makes it a convenient entry point for general aviation visitors and a practical gateway for road transfers to Efeler, Kuşadası, Didim and the Aegean coast.
