Al-Bough Airport (BUK)

Al-Bough Airport (BUK) is a small airstrip serving the village of Albuq in Saada Governorate, northwestern Yemen. It functions as a regional landing point for light aircraft, charter and humanitarian operations rather than large scheduled commercial traffic.

The airfield sits at an elevation of about 1,158 metres and has a single unpaved runway used mainly under visual flight rules. Operations are limited to daylight hours, and the runway is known to be affected at times by drifting sand.

Located near the Saudi border, Al-Bough is roughly 225 km north of the national capital Sana'a. The surrounding area is connected by road, so onward travel is typically arranged by private vehicle, taxi or pre-arranged transfer.

As a remote airstrip, Al-Bough offers limited passenger infrastructure and services, making advance planning important for both arrivals and departures. It nevertheless provides an important connection point for the local community and relief or development missions in northern Yemen.
