Zhaodong Beidahuang General Airport (HLJ)

Zhaodong Beidahuang General Airport is a general aviation airport serving Zhaodong, Suihua and the wider Heilongjiang region. It supports agricultural aviation plant protection, flight training, aerial photography and survey, aviation tourism, forest fire protection, medical rescue and weather modification, and also operates short-haul passenger flights within the province.

Construction began in September 2013 and the first phase entered service in October 2015. The airport received its A1 general aviation airport licence in January 2018, and in June 2018 its operator was approved for CCAR-135 short-haul operations, opening the Zhaodong–Jiamusi route.

The airport covers about 3 square kilometres in Shangjia Town and has a 1,800-metre, 3C-class runway, an 800-metre taxiway, connecting taxiways, a helicopter landing area and a 65,000-square-metre apron with around 43 aircraft stands. Night lighting and communication, navigation and weather systems support visual and night operations.

The airport lies roughly 18 km from Zhaodong city center and around 50 km from Harbin, close to the Harbin–Daqing expressway. Road transport, taxis and pre-arranged transfers are the main ways to continue to Zhaodong, Harbin and nearby towns.
