About the Event
The spring edition brings together global buyers and leading suppliers for one of China's most important trade gatherings. Organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre and co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial Government, the fair has been held in Guangzhou every spring and autumn since 1957. The 2027 edition is the 141st session of the China Import and Export Fair.
The event is structured in three phases. Phase 1 runs from 15 to 19 April and focuses on electronics and advanced manufacturing, covering consumer electronics, household appliances, lighting, new energy, industrial automation, machinery, vehicles and hardware. Phase 2 takes place from 23 to 27 April and presents consumer goods, home decor, building and decorative materials, sanitary and bathroom equipment, kitchenware, ceramics, gifts and furniture. Phase 3 is held from 1 to 5 May and features textiles and apparel, footwear, bags, home textiles, personal care, medical and health products, food, toys and baby products.
Each phase turns the halls into a dedicated sourcing platform. Visitors move through product zones to compare suppliers, inspect samples and discuss orders, while exhibitors use the fair to meet international buyers and negotiate contracts. The event covers ten major product categories and brings together a wide range of manufacturers, trading companies and overseas suppliers.
The fair attracts importers, wholesalers, retailers, sourcing agents, distributors and industry professionals from around the world. Attendees come to discover new products, verify supplier capabilities, compare prices and build long-term relationships. Chinese exporters use the platform to reach overseas markets, while the International Pavilion gives foreign companies a route into the Chinese market.
Alongside the exhibition, the fair runs a programme of conferences and industry forums where participants discuss trade trends, product innovation, sustainability and market opportunities. Networking takes place throughout the halls, in buyer-supplier meetings and through official business matchmaking activities.
Recent spring editions have covered about 1.55 million square metres of exhibition space, making the event one of the largest trade fairs in the world. For buyers and suppliers, the spring session is a concentrated opportunity to plan sourcing for the year ahead and to observe the latest product developments across a broad range of industries.
