About Zaysan Airport
Zaysan Airport serves the town of Zaisan and the surrounding Zaisan District in Kazakhstan's East Kazakhstan Region. It is a small regional airport that connects the area to the wider national transport network.
Located approximately 1 km north of Zaisan city centre, the airport has a compact single-terminal layout and mainly handles domestic flights and regional aircraft. A new airport complex is under construction near the village of Satpay, about 25 km from Zaisan, to replace the existing facility.
Ground transportation from the airport is primarily by taxi, private transfer or rental car, as public transport links are limited. The short drive into Zaisan town makes the airport convenient for visitors travelling to Lake Zaysan and the surrounding area.
Once the new airport opens, it is expected to serve domestic routes to Astana, Almaty and Ust-Kamenogorsk, with future international connections to destinations in China.
