About Yuncheng Yanhu International Airport
Yuncheng Yanhu International Airport is the main airport serving Yuncheng, a city in southern Shanxi Province, China. Formerly known as Yuncheng Zhangxiao Airport, it was renamed in 2024 after receiving approval to operate international services, and it now functions as the city's primary gateway for domestic and international travel.
The airport opened in 2005 and has been expanded in stages. It operates two passenger terminals: T1 is used for international flights and T2 for domestic flights, with the terminals connected by a corridor. A new runway was brought into use in January 2024 ahead of the airport's first international route to Bangkok.
Located approximately 11 km from central Yuncheng, the airport is connected to the city by airport shuttle buses, city bus routes, taxis, private transfers and road links. Transfer times to the city centre are typically around 25 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.
The terminal complex offers passenger facilities including a VIP lounge, café and tea service, a nursing room, a smoking room, lost and found, a first aid centre and barrier-free services. It serves as a practical gateway for visitors travelling to Yuncheng and nearby destinations such as the Yuncheng Salt Lake, Guandi Temple, Guanque Tower and Yongle Palace.
