Yan'an Nanniwan Airport is a dual-use military and civil airport serving Yan'an, a city in northern Shaanxi Province known for its revolutionary heritage. Officially named in 2017, the airport began operations in November 2018, replacing the former Yan'an Ershilipu Airport and becoming the city's main air gateway.
Located about 13 km southwest of central Yan'an in Baota District, the airport has a 4C rating and operates a single two-level terminal used for domestic flights. A 3,000-meter runway and seven aircraft stands support services operated by airlines including China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
The airport connects Yan'an with domestic cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi'an, Chongqing and Nanjing. It is reached from the city center by airport shuttle buses, taxis, private transfers and road links, with shuttle journeys taking around an hour and taxis typically faster.
