Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is the main international airport serving Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province. Located northwest of central Xi'an, it connects the city to destinations across China, Asia and beyond, and serves as a major gateway for both leisure and business travel in northwest China.
The airport's passenger operations are organized across Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and the newer Terminal 5. Terminal 3 opened in 2012, and the expanded Terminal 5 opened in 2025 as the dedicated hub for all international, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan flights, alongside a number of domestic airlines.
The airport lies about 47 km northwest of downtown Xi'an. Travellers can reach the city centre by Metro Line 14, airport shuttle buses, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services, rental cars, and road links, making onward travel relatively straightforward.
