Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is the main airport serving Xiamen and the surrounding southern Fujian region. Opened in 1983, it is located on the northeastern end of Xiamen Island, about 10 kilometres from the city centre.
The airport operates two passenger terminals, Terminal 3 (T3) and Terminal 4 (T4), handling both domestic and international flights. T3 serves international and regional routes as well as domestic flights operated by Xiamen Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hebei Airlines, while T4 is used for other domestic operations.
Central Xiamen is reachable by airport shuttle buses, public buses, BRT services, taxis, private transfers and rental cars, making onward travel to the city centre and nearby destinations such as Gulangyu Island, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou relatively straightforward.
