Wyk auf Föhr Airport (OHR)

Wyk auf Föhr Airport is a small general aviation airfield serving the island of Föhr in Germany's North Frisian Islands. Founded in 1926, it is one of the oldest airfields in Schleswig-Holstein and continues to provide fast air access to an island that otherwise relies on ferry connections to the mainland.

Located about 2 km west of the town centre of Wyk auf Föhr, the airfield primarily serves private flights, air taxi services, scenic flights and rescue operations. The local company Westküstenflug offers sightseeing and taxi flights with Cessna aircraft, while the airfield is also used for medical flights to the hospital in Wyk.

The facility has a small terminal building, a restaurant and two grass runways. It does not handle scheduled commercial airline traffic, so facilities are simple and operations follow general aviation procedures rather than a large passenger terminal process.

Travelers can continue to the town centre, island villages and ferry port by local bus, taxi, rental car or pre-arranged transfer. Because of its close location to Wyk, the airport offers a convenient entry point for visitors arriving on the island by private or chartered aircraft.
