Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is the main international airport serving Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province and a major transport hub in central China. Opened in 1995, the airport has grown into one of the region's busiest gateways for domestic and international travel.
Located about 26 km north of central Wuhan, the airport connects travelers to the city's three main urban areas of Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang, as well as destinations across the Yangtze River region. Terminal 3 opened in 2017, and a renovated Terminal 2 returned to service in 2024, giving the airport a dual-terminal layout that separates international and domestic operations.
Metro Line 2 links the airport directly with central Wuhan, complemented by airport shuttle buses, taxis, private transfers and road connections, making onward travel to the city centre relatively straightforward.
