About Vinh International Airport
Vinh International Airport is the main airport serving Vinh and Nghe An province in north central Vietnam. Located about 7 km from the city centre, it connects the region to major domestic destinations and functions as the aviation gateway for the north central coast.
The airport has a long history that began in 1937, with scheduled commercial services established from 1995. A modern domestic terminal opened in 2015, and an international terminal came into service at the end of 2019. In late 2025, the airport completed a major upgrade of its terminal, apron and runway, increasing the domestic terminal floor area to 13,200 m² and capacity to around 3–3.5 million passengers per year.
The passenger terminal is organized with arrivals on the first floor and departures on the second. Facilities include a business-class lounge, food and beverage outlets, shops and free drinking water, with security screening located before the departure gates.
Vinh International Airport is connected to Vinh and nearby destinations by taxi, local bus and private transfer, with onward options to Cua Lo Beach, Kim Lien Village and other parts of Nghe An.
