About Van Don International Airport
Van Don International Airport is the main international airport serving Quang Ninh Province and the Ha Long Bay area in northern Vietnam. Opened on December 30, 2018, it was developed by Sun Group and is Vietnam's first privately developed, constructed and operated international airport.
Located on the coast of Quang Ninh in Doan Ket Commune, Van Don District, the airport is around 50 km from Ha Long City. Its single passenger terminal handles domestic and international flights and is designed around a 3,600 m runway, 31 check-in counters, and modern arrival and departure areas.
The airport is connected to Ha Long City by the Ha Long–Van Don Expressway, with buses, taxis, private transfers and car rental available for onward travel to Ha Long Bay, Bai Chay, Tuan Chau, Cam Pha and other parts of the province.
With lounges, dining, shopping, free Wi-Fi and charging facilities, the airport serves as a practical gateway for visitors heading to Ha Long Bay and the wider Quang Ninh region.
