About Turku Airport
Turku Airport is the main airport serving Turku and the south-western region of Finland. As Finland's oldest civilian airport, it opened in Artukainen in 1935 before moving to its present site in 1955, and it continues to play an important role in domestic and European air travel.
Located about 8 km north of central Turku, the airport connects the city with destinations including Stockholm, Copenhagen, Riga and other European routes, while serving as a gateway to the Turku Archipelago and coastal south-west Finland.
The compact main terminal handles check-in, security screening, arrivals and baggage claim within a single building. A second passenger terminal opened in 2008 for low-cost airlines but has since closed, consolidating passenger operations in the main terminal.
Turku Airport is linked to the city centre by bus line 1 to the Market Square, with taxis, private transfers and rental cars also available. The terminal provides a café, bar café, shop, free Wi-Fi, charging points and a lounge for travellers.
